Resumo: | The increase in scientific production and the lack of bibliographic studies in the area of STS Education indicate the relevance of state of knowledge research such as the one presented here that involved an expressive set of 860 Theses and Dissertations that are part of the collection located in the CAPES Catalogue. This study aimed to identify and characterize what are the formative objectives related to STS Education present in the Theses and Dissertations defended in Brazil between 2010 and 2019, also considering the evolution of academic extracts Professional Master, Academic Master and Doctorate. The theme of this research is justified because the formative objectives constitute the core of the teaching work and the processes of teacher education. The ten categories of analysis observed were obtained from descriptors elaborated a priori based on the literature of the area, allowing a broad mapping of the collection, being verified among the formative objectives the predominance of the categories Development of Critical and Reflective Thinking; Study of STS Relations and Promotion of Scientific Literacy and Scientific and Technological Literacy, being little explored the category Awareness. The results indicate that STS Education can contribute to the improvement of Brazilian scientific education, favoring the articulation of the different dimensions analyzed in educational activities, so that the researches analyzed contemplate relevant aspects defended by contemporary society and that are even provided for official Brazilian documents such as the Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC). |

Formative objectives present in Theses and Dissertations related to STS Education defended in Brazil between 2010 and 2019Objetivos formativos presentes en Tesis y Disertaciones relacionadas con la Educación CTS defendidas en Brasil entre 2010 y 2019Objetivos formativos presentes em Teses e Dissertações relacionadas com a Educação CTS defendidas no Brasil entre 2010 e 2019The increase in scientific production and the lack of bibliographic studies in the area of STS Education indicate the relevance of state of knowledge research such as the one presented here that involved an expressive set of 860 Theses and Dissertations that are part of the collection located in the CAPES Catalogue.
