The Modernization of Administration through the Lens of Google Scholar

Purpose: The modernization of the administration is a present theme in times with the constraints that present times have posed, as is the case of pandemic. Since public administration is a unique issue in society, the study of this theme should not be ignored.Methodology: In this article you will find, through a meta-analysis, a summary of what has been studied in the area of administrative modernization in the last twenty years. The data survey was carried out via Google Scholar.Results: After careful analysis of the collected data, it was concluded that there is a large percentage of empirical studies in what concerns this area, in the most diverse areas of knowledge, however without a great capacity to replicate them. Limitations: The option for restrictive criteria in the search may have led to certain articles having gone unnoticed. Furthermore, depending on the country of origin of the research, the terms used to refer to the theme may be different from those used in this one, which may also influence the results.Originality: This study brings to the surface important results for the research area, namely to understand how the theme has been studied and, if necessary, to give a new direction to its study. It is thus an article with an associated prescriptive aspect.Keywords: Modernization of administration; Google Scholar; Meta-analysis.
