Resumo: Application of the two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2DE) protocols which were developed for samples of mammalian origin gives unsatisfactory results when used in samples from marine molluscs. This chapter describes a detailed protocol of 2DE that can be applied to these organisms, especially for Ruditapes decussatus and Bathymodiolus azoricus.
