Resumo: This article seeks to characterise the rise of the area of oral history in Portugal at the end of the 20th century, a fact to which researchers working in foreign academic contexts and originating from subject areas bordering on history made a contribution. We sketch out the situation of oral history and identify its practices, in which the women, more recent researchers, stand out, including a proportion from outside the academic world. On the basis of an analysis of works published by Paula Godinho, Luísa Tiago de Oliveira and Dalila Cabrita Mateus, some of the possibilities and problems raised by its employment are revealed.

Se esboza la situación de la historia oral identificando sus prácticas y destacando a las mujeres, investigadores más recientes, parte de los cuales ajenos a la academia. A partirdel análisis de obras de Paula Godinho, Luísa Tiago de Oliveira y Dalila Cabrita Mateus, se revelan algunas posibilidades y problemas colocados por su utilización.Il s’agit de caractériser l’apparition de l’histoire orale au Portugal à la fin du XXe siècle, grâce aux contributions de chercheurs qui ont travaillé dans des contextes universitaires étrangers et issus de champsdisciplinaires voisins de l’histoire. La situation de l’histoire orale est ébauchée, en identifiant ses pratiques et en mettant l’accent sur les femmes et sur les chercheurs les plus récents, dont une partie hors del’académie. À partir d’œuvres de Paula Godinho, Luísa Tiago de Oliveira et Dalila Cabrita Mateus, cet article dévoile quelques possibilités et quelques problèmes soulevés par son utilisation.Procura-se caracterizar o surgimento da história oral em Portugal nos finais do séc. XX, para o que contribuíram investigadores que trabalharam em contextos académicos estrangeiros e vindos de áreas disciplinares vizinhas da história. Esboça-se a situação da história oral, identificando as suas práticas, em que se salientam as mulheres, investigadores mais recentes, parte dos quais de fora da academia.
