Resumo: The Clavis Prophetarum, soon to be published by the National Library in Lisbon, was left incomplete and its edition was not concluded by the time its author , Father António Vieira, died. When a copy was sent to Rome in 1699 and when a statement about the original was issued in Lisbon (1714) which led to the organization of the text having in view its edition, some brief introductory sentences connecting its several sections were added. From the analysis of the style of Vieira’s Latin some criteria may be inferred, making it possible to identify and isolate the sections which were subsequently added. Vieira uses the Latin language with the same brilliancy and “ingenious discourse”, with the same baroque style which he uses in his Portuguese sermons. Some excerpts from the Clavis text are published, both in the original and in translation.

Al organizarse una copia enviada a Roma en 1699 y al elaborarse en Lisboa (1714) un parecer sobre el original, que afectó también a la organización del texto para ser editado, se añadieron frases introductorias breves con que se pretendía establecer una conexión entre las diferentes partes. Del estudio del latín de Vieira se deducen criterios que permiten identificar y aislar los núcleos añadidos. Vieira escribe en latín con el mismo fulgor y con el mismo «discurso ingenioso», con el mismo estilo barroco que utiliza en sus sermones en portugués. Se publican extractos del texto de la Clavis, en su original y en traducción.La Clavis Prophetarum, actuellement en voie de publication par la Bibliothèque Nationale de Lisbonne, se trouvait inachevée et son édition incomplète à la date de la mort de son auteur, le Père António Vieira. Après l’organisation d’une copie, envoyée à Rome en 1699, et d’un avis critique sur l’original, en 1714 à Lisbonne, original que nous retrouvons dans l’organisation du texte à éditer, de brèves phrases introductrices furent ajoutées afin d’établir une liaison entre les différentes parties. L’étude du style du latin de Vieira nous permet de déduire les critères qui aident à identifier et à isoler les fragments ajoutés. Vieira écrit en latin avec le même éclat et la même «finesse de discours», avec le même style baroque qu’il utilisait dans ses sermons en portugais. Nous publions donc des extraits du texte Clavis, d’après l’original et d’après la traduction.A Clavis Prophetarum, a ser publicada brevemente pela Biblioteca Nacional de Lisboa, estava inacabada e editorialmente inconclusa à data da morte do seu autor, Padre António Vieira. Ao ser organizada uma cópia enviada para Roma em 1699, e ao ser feito em Lisboa (1714) um parecer sobre o original, que redundou também na organização do texto para ser editado, foram acrescentadas frases introdutórias breves, com que se pretendia estabelecer conexão entre as várias partes. Do estudo do estilo do latim de Vieira deduzem-se critérios que tornam possível identificar e isolar os núcleos acrescentados. Vieira escreve em latim com o mesmo fulgor e com o mesmo «discurso engenhoso», com o mesmo estilo barroco que utiliza nos seus sermões em português.
