This report covers topics that concerns system’s information professionals, such as: information security, business continuity planning, data integrity, and the most relevant for the purpose of this work, cloud computing. In addition, this work covers the activities and responsibilities that I experienced in my internship as a support engineer in the backup and recovery service area. This paper shows a practical point of view about the role that cloud computing technology plays in realizing a backup plan within an organization. It is also focused on some of the advantages and challenges in the use of cloud computing technology to deploy and maintain data backups.
