Resumo: | The present study explores the theme of sustainability in the field of architecture and exposes different strategies and construction elements adapted to current climate changes. The examples under discussion are present in 22 buildings, selected for their constructive and ecological characteristics, which are compiled in a table format in Appendix I. As a visual complement, images of the spaces and funcionality diagrams of the discussed systems are presented in Appendix II. The analysis and comparison of the case studies led to the conclusion that buildings with a better ecological performance tend to complement energy and water saving strategies with energy production systems and rainwater harvesting. In addition, most of the examples have an automated control system for the different systems and equipment, which promotes the overall efficiency of the building. Furthermore, the reflection on the impact of the selected construction methods and energy systems results in the conclusion that sustainable construction does not necessarily mean the loss of architectural value or cultural identity. |
