Planear, refletir e intervir no futebol de formação: Estágio curricular na formação do F.C.Porto Época 2022/2023

This internship report was developed at Futebol Clube do Porto in the 2022/2023 season, as part of obtaining a Master's degree in Sports Psychology and Human Development. This report begins with a brief explanation of the concepts related to grassroots football, and Sports Psychology and its importance in this modality. Next, the internship institution, the psychology department and the target team of intervention are characterized. The internship objectives are presented and a detailed description is made of all activities and interventions carried out throughout the period, such as: behavioral observation, logbook, application of anamnesis, formal and informal conversations, group dynamics, individual sessions, collective session and psychoeducation session. This report also includes an investigation carried out with 6 coaches that aimed to understand the role and importance that the sports psychologist has in the well-being and sporting performance of athletes. Furthermore, we also intended to understand the importance that coaches attribute to psychological skills and how they develop these skills in their athletes. Finally, a critical reflection of my intervention as an intern is presented, the positive aspects and aspects that need to be improved, what went less well, the difficulties expressed and the limitations. With this study, it was possible to conclude that coaches consider the work carried out by psychologists to be very important, not only in grassroots football, but also in professional football. Furthermore, they also consider that it is essential to develop a set of psychological skills with athletes in order to contribute to maximum positive development.
