A permanência da existência do medo de dar à luz apesar da existência de vasta informação é ainda uma realidade na sociedade ocidental atual. Foi efetuada uma Scoping Review (SR) partindo da questão “Qual o papel do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Materna e Obstétrica (EEESMO) na gestão/ desconstrução do medo de dar à luz, na sala de partos?”, da qual se obteve cinco artigos sujeitos a análise reflexiva. Destaca-se que o EEESMO assume neste contexto um papel essencial através do estabelecimento de uma relação de confiança e da aplicação de intervenções especificas relativas a respiração, relaxamento, uso da voz e meditação. Estes resultados são relevantes para a prática de Enfermagem. Salienta-se a necessidade de formação dos EESMOS e consequentemente de formação fornecida às mulheres por forma a empoderá-las, tornando-as capazes de assumir maior controlo sobre o seu corpo no seu trabalho de parto.The moment of childbirth encompasses countless emotions. The permanence of the existence of the fear of giving birth despite the existence of vast information is still a reality in today's Western society. A Scoping Review (SR) was carried out based on the question “What is the role of the Midwife in the management/deconstruction of the fear of giving birth, in the delivery room?”, from which we obtained five articles subject to reflective analysis. It is noteworthy that the midwife assumes an essential role in this context through the establishment of a relationship of trust and the application of specific interventions related to breathing, relaxation, voice use and meditation. These results are relevant to the Nursing practice.
