This academic exercise, Desenhar a Noite, is a critical reading of the change in perception of the morphology of public space in-between times (daytime and nighttime), as an acknowledgement of the nocturnal paradigm of the contemporary urban project through its model of historical and contemporary development. This proposal of "approximation" to the urban-nocturnal paradigm of public space will be informed by a diverse set of theoretical contributes, followed by a qualitative analyses of the material context of the sensorial and individual experience of the nocturnal territories of Porto's public space. In this way, in an operative system of understanding, the field of architecture and urbanism is seen as a discourse and practice which must be conscious of the multiple social, economic, and cultural realities in which it intervenes - the urban drawing interpreted as a tool in constant mutation and development in need of new axes of expansion and regeneration.
