Resumo: This dissertation arises as an opportunity to (re)think the discipline of architecture and its role in society through the experience of Recetas Urbanas. This work has two main objectives: to rise a criticism against architecture associated to the production of objects and forms, whilst also advancing proposals for an architecture thought as a process. All this, weaving together the theoretical and practical experience of Recetas Urbanas with the thoughts of critics, sociologists and architects that constitute some of the fundamental figures within the debate for another architecture. At first, the aim is to (re)rethink the role of the architect and the discipline in relation to spatial production processes within the current panorama. Following, although briefly, the process of building the pillars on which much of architectural practice seems to be based - political neutrality, autonomy, authorship - an attempt will be made to deconstruct these pillars, advancing a proposal that replaces the figure of the architect as author and individual creator of forms, with that of the architect as a spatial agent and citizen-expert who collaborates with other agents and citizens for the construction of collective processes. In a second moment it is attempted to identify methodologies that not only enable the realization of these processes, but also represent pedagogical and empowerment tools that claim an architecture of sharing, participation (both physical and political), of learning, of festivity and affection. In a third moment it is intended to expose the physical results of these processes, building an idea of architecture that claims room for imperfection, the unplanned, the contingency, the ordinary, and that is continuously reinvented as the critical thought that comes first.
