Este estágio foi realizado no âmbito da unidade curricular “Estágio” do 2º ano do Mestrado em Gestão da Faculdade de Economia da Universidade de Coimbra. O estágio foi realizado em quatro departamento distintos da empresa, os Recursos Humanos, as Compras, o Planeamento de Produção e a Melhoria continua e o objetivo do mesmo foi fornecer uma visão abrangente e integrada da empresa e dos seus processos. A temática principal do estágio, de acordo com as atividades realizadas, foi o desperdício e as ferramentas lean, estando, portanto, todo o relatório enquadrado nesta temática. Em termos teóricos, foi realizada uma revisão de conceitos como o desperdício e as diversas ferramentas lean aplicadas para a sua redução, articulando também com a gestão de stocks. Já em termos práticos, relacionadas com a literatura, foram realizadas análises ao desperdício utilizando ferramentas lean como o Value Stream Mapping (VSM) e o Kobetsu Kaizen, e também análises e estudos de stocks. Estas atividades resultaram na aplicação e aquisição de conhecimentos e em dados importantes que podem ser aplicados pela empresa para reduzirem o desperdício, aumentarem a produtividade e gerirem stocks. Foram também realizadas atividades de gestão de recursos humanos, sendo a mais relevante a elaboração do Manual de Acolhimento aos novos funcionários, que é hoje o manual que está em vigor, aprovado pela gerência. No geral, todas as tarefas e objetivos traçados, foram cumpridos. O conhecimento adquirido foi uma mais-valia e tenho a certeza que vai ajudar bastante a minha inserção no mercado de trabalho. As tarefas que desempenhei foram também muito proveitosas para a empresa.The purpose of this internship report is to describe all the activities developed during the internship at Mehler Engineered Products Portugal, as well as their framework and critical evaluation. This internship was carried out within the scope of the “Internship” curricular unit of the second year of the Master in Management at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra.The internship was carried out in four different departments of the company, Human Resources, Purchasing, Production Planning and Continuous Improvement, and its objective was to provide a comprehensive and integrated view of the company and its processes.The main theme of the internship, according to the activities carried out, was waste and lean tools, therefore, the entire report remains framed in this theme. In theoretical terms, a review of concepts such as waste and the different lean tools applied for its reduction was carried out, also articulating with inventory management. In practical terms, related to the literature, waste was analyzed using lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Kobetsu Kaizen, as well as analyzes and studies of inventories. These activities resulted in the application and acquisition of knowledge and important data that can be applied by the company to reduce waste, increase productivity, and manage inventories. Human resources management activities were also carried out, the most relevant was the elaboration of the Welcoming Manual for new employees, which is today the manual that is in distributed, approved by management.In general, all the tasks and objectives outlined were fulfilled. The knowledge acquired was an asset and I am sure will help a lot in my future in the job market.
