This master's dissertation has as its main object of study a property located in Gouveia, Serra da Estrela, denominated as Quinta do Paul. Focusing on the recognition of the identity of this place as well as the elaboration of a project plan for the reinterpretation of the property space, pursuing a new dwelling. It begins with a narrative that selects concepts that aim to clarify precisely what it is to recognize, what is the identity of a place and how certain elements can affect the architectural work as well as the individual who inhabits it - where he himself has an active role in the conception of space. Thus, concepts such as Perception, Atmosphere, Place and Materiality are raised. The conceptual narrative, together with the analysis and interpretation of the place, provides new perspectives of the proposal project that has as its main objective the maintenance of the memory of what once was and allow, in this alignment, the construction of spaces for new happenings.
