Resumo: The novel Meine Väter [My fathers] is based on the search by the narrator of his real father, an Indian who has left his Swiss mother. It seems important for him to know his own family. He hopes to find an explanation of himself or part of it in the real father and his Indian family and background. His search brings nothing, even if he meets his real father and travels with him to the Caribbean islands, where his father comes from. The search is fruitless, nothing links him to his Indian family, the relatives belong to another world, not his own. The search must go on within himself and his near context.
