Resumo: This study presents new paradigmes on the flat bottomed amphorae and common ware research, in local and regional commerce and in long distance food provision. Even though they are from distinct chronologies and geographical areas, the cases that we present show a double role of these vessels: transport containers and individual rations, similar with what happens with bottles nowadays.
