Resumo: | Direct access multi-family housing constituted expansion models of the Porto city, assuming a relative importance not only for the city net's growth and consolidation, but also for the transition between single and multi-family housing, by the densification and complexity of the intern mould's composition. It was established as an intermediate system, inheriting permanency traces and integrating spatial and logical transformations. However, this system has blurred into the city blocks anonymity and its meaning into other models, often being the object of ambiguities, contradictions and prejudice. In this sense, the current thesis wants, as a main objective, to enlight the general nature of the direct access, leaning on a sample of the Porto city, by making of analysis criteria and summoning examples of the spatial diversities found. The theme's comprehension, starting from the scope of study in Porto, complemented by the parallel with models of direct access multi-family housing, in a dense and low city context, from the dutch experience, allowed to investigate the system's qualities and values, finding its relevance for nowadays. |
