Resumo: This thesis deals with the development of a domestic adaptative solution in the context of the kitchen, more concretely a carousel rotary storage sistem, with the goal of turning the kitchen into a more ergonomic and confortable environment. On an initial stage, in order to contextualize this dissertation, a state of the art analysis was done, which consisted on the revision of various studys concerning the diferent tasks that take place in the kitchen and the revision of various ergonomic solutions already present in the market. From the state of the arte, and resorting to tools such as Kano analyzis and QFD matrices, it was possible to determine the priority of the requirements, speci cations and components of the product. This analysis was made for three diferent user pro les in order to evaluate which one would bene t the most with the introduction of this product. The selected pro le was of the frequent user, which prioritizes utility space, accessibility and storage space. After de ning the user pro le, a series of concepts were developed using tools like brainstorming and morfological analysis. From the obtained concepts, the one that was selected was the carousel rotary storage system, as it is the one that better suits the previously de ned requirements and the one that di ers most from the currently available solutions. The selected concept was subjected to a failure mode e ect analysis, FMEA, and a new morfologycal analysis in order to correctly de ne the diferent kind of mechanisms that must be implemented in the product. Based on the decisions previously taken, the modeling process was started. This process has a iterative nature, being composed of a total of four iterations, including the initial draft and the nal model. Besides the nal model, various alternative models were developed which mantained the nal model's architecture, but which atribute a slightly di erent function or that take advantage of the modularity of the system. The nal model has various advantages that are exclusive to it, namely, the harnessing of storage space up to the ceiling and the facilitated access to higher storage spaces. These features are indicative of the full lement of the original objectives, as seen that the nal product is a groundbreaking model that meets the needed ergonomic requirements and that facilitates the kitchen usage. The nal model also presents the potencial to be developed in future works, as seen that the con guration is easily adaptable to an automated solution.
