This dissertation aims to study the concept and the reality of the articulation that exists between design and construction, which currently has a greater importance for its conception in the process of the architect who somehow tries to answer these problems that exist in his day by day, awakening architectural practices related to construction. Construction these days is an essential basis for the project, and the achievements in modern technology in some way encourage humans, who can go beyond their natural heritage. This aspect has been a pillar of great relevance that is discovered by the architects during their journey, which is stimulated by the connection of what it is to think architecture together with the materials. Considering this important aspect for the training of any architect, this document is based on a brief introduction to the study of the subjects, which will be more relevant for the construction in the current architecture in order to dynamize its use, as well as to know its evolution and the your application. This work aims at several objectives, the first being a brief description of the history and evolution of the materials, more specifically, as is the case of steel, masonry, concrete, composites, cork, wood, stone and glass. Then, in a brief approach, it tries to understand the contextualization of architecture and its construction over time and what are its major influences at the time they are inserted, understanding the route and the way of thinking about architecture over time until the days current. As well as the possible evolutions of the materials and their ways of applying that may result. Finally, in chapter III, an observation and a brief analysis of the case studies were carried out, using the materials mentioned above in their works, with a description and approach of their implementation, of their cuts, of the elevations and surveys of its constructive details of how the architect idealized. Finally, the results found are presented regarding the conclusions drawn from this study as well as the possible works that could be elaborated in a more indepth analysis of the problem.
