O estudo do tema envolveu: (i) a distinção do fenómeno prosódico da acentuação e da convenção ortográfica do acento e a apresentação dos conceitos fundamentais para a sua descrição; (ii) a análise do tratamento dado à acentuação nos documentos orientadores para o ensino de línguas estrangeiras (e do português) e em manuais didáticos e gramáticas para aprendentes não nativos de português; (iii) a descrição das dificuldades de aprendizagem da acentuação gráfica nos aprendentes de Português Língua Não Materna (PLNM), identificadas em alguns estudos; (iv) a descrição e fundamentação das atividades com relevância para o ensino da acentuação gráfica, com apresentação de alguns resultados obtidos nesse contexto. Embora sejam em número limitado, os dados obtidos permitiram verificar que: (i) num contexto de ensino explícito, os alunos não aparentam ter grandes dificuldades na identificação da sílaba tónica e no uso do sinal diacrítico em palavras frequentes; (ii) num contexto de ensino implícito, parece existir uma tendência para a ocorrência de desvios por omissão do diacrítico.The difficulty in teaching/learning graphic accentuation in European Portuguese (EP) motivated its choice as the object of study for the present Report and as a main intervention domain for the Pedagogical Internship - integrated in the Programme of Initiation to Professional Practice of the Master’s Degree in Portuguese as a Foreign Language and Second Language (PLELS) at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra.
