This paper entitled Annotation of significant citizenship milestones in Portugal: the case of Correia de Lacerda aims to understand the evolution of the concept of citizenship in the context of Western culture, from ancient Greece to the modern age, particularly until the revolution. French Secondly, I focused my attention on the civic consciousness that emerges in Portugal, particularly with the liberal revolution of 1820, whose struggles between liberals and miguelists led to the Évora-Monte convention (1834), which led to the second liberalism in Portugal. This was the political context used to analyze the pamphlet A Political Role - Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow (1842), where one perceives the civic intervention carried out by D. José Maria de Almeida and Araújo Correia de Lacerda, pointing out his contribution to the affirmation of citizenship in Portugal, particularly in the context of the second liberalism.
