O Vale de Alcântara representa uma destas zonas, onde o crescimento desequilibrado da cidade se fez sentir de forma visível, tendo sido apropriado por um excessivo número de infraestruturas que desrespeitam ainda hoje a sua função natural e que se configuram como uma barreira física entre o Parque Florestal de Monsanto e a restante cidade. Quando nos apercebemos da dimensão que este aglomerado infraestrutural ocupa, assim como os espaços mortos que cria, surge a necessidade de intervenção. A intervenção que se propõe passa por reativar a função natural do vale, definindo um parque urbano de produção agrícola, que exalte a memória do lugar enquanto permite uma continuidade da estrutura ecológica da cidade, que produzirá benefícios ambientais a uma escala maior. Também se propõe a construção de uma frente urbana, que permita a existência da densidade própria de cidade, enquanto que colmata as pré-existências do vale, nomeadamente junto ao Bairro da Liberdade, que tal como outras zonas do vale, se encontra afastado da restante cidade. Com o intuito de requalificar toda a área do Vale de Alcântara, pretende-se possibilitar a integração do espaço verde na cidade, através da renaturalização de todo o vale, respeitando a sua própria natureza e encontrando soluções e novas adaptações face às pré-existências.ABSTRACT: As we look upon today´s city of Lisbon, we realize that there is a need for intervention in several areas, which are fragmented from the rest of the urban network. The Alcântara Valley is seen as one of these areas. There the unbalanced growth of the city is made visible, as the valley has been appropriated by an excessive number of infrastructures that, to this day, disrespect its primal function. These also consist as physical barrier between the Monsanto Forest Park and the rest of Lisbon itself. When we realize the dimension that these infrastructural settlements occupy, as well as the dead spaces they create, the need for intervention turns obvious. The presented intervention involves reactivating the valley's natural function, proposing an urban park with agricultural production, which will exalt the memory of the place, while allowing a continuity of the city's ecological structure, which will produce environmental benefits on a larger scale. It is also proposed the construction of an urban front, which will allow the existence of the city's own density, while filling in the valley's pre-existence, namely near the Bairro da Liberdade, which, like other areas of the valley, is far from the rest of the city.
