Resumo: The present dissertation is focused on the case study of Quinta de Crasto, located in Lugar de Crasto, Vairão, Vila do Conde. It is a hybrid complex, inserted in a countryside landscape, which incorporates a cluster of agricultural buildings and equipment, presenting itself as a landscape and architectural testimony of cultures and lifestyles increasingly less present and in disuse. Its future rehabilitation, to host the Biopolis Project, motivated a path of research on its origin, territorial framework, historical, social and constructive processes leading to its analysis and interpretative reading. This way allows a transdisciplinary reading of this heritage set is sought, crossing means of architectural survey and constructive diagnosis with territorial, landscape, archival and historiographic interpretation. This analysis and interpretation about the evolution of the Farm, representative of the rich agricultural past of the north, from the mid-nineteenth century to the present - chronological sequence of buildings and alterations, and their respective actors, seeking to adapt to the circumstances and spirit of the time - will allow us to perceive how this set builds and marks the landscape, revealing a greater presence, local and regional, rural and urban. This knowledge may inform future rehabilitation, contributing to an intervention methodology, which ensures the maintenance and adaptability of tangible and intangible heritage.
