Resumo: | The present dissertation is based on the study of multi-programmatic buildings, defending their relevance and ability to promote a collective and democratic experience, acting as an extension of the city's public space. The scenario of vulnerability and social instability that threatens, at the same time, the dimensions of the public and the collective, driven by the rise of anti-democratic forces and with the ongoing geopolitical conflicts, evidence the relevance of affirming collective spaces as agglutinators of local life. , encounter, interaction and enjoyment in the community. In order to analyze how the multi-programmatic works of two different authors can broaden the understanding and reconfiguration of the idea of public and collective in contemporary cities, we materialize by looking at success stories in paradigmatic and challenging urban environments such as Tokyo and São Paulo, for its effervescent atmosphere and the dynamism of urban life, a reflection of the daily interaction of its residents and visitors. In choosing case studies that accompany this debate, we selected the multi-programmatic works of Kazuo Shinohara and Lina Bo Bardi capable of encapsulating ways of living in cities. Focusing on the idea of acting as social capacitors in a current and expanded sense, through the combination of diverse programmatic functions that go beyond their primary programmatic use, they indicate how multifunctional infrastructure can contribute to urban and social development by promoting opportunities for encounter and relationship. The term social condenser, extracted from Russian constructivist architecture, has been recaptured from a sense of strong connection and relevant message, in the ability to strengthen communities and can be considered an added value for contemporary cities. The decision to choose the two authors is clearly not based on the convergence of methods or design aspects, nor on their formal characteristics; but rather in the possibility of exploring common issues, of complex thematic natures, which we will summarize from the following points: Structural, Cultural, Artistic and Everyday. The consideration of these dimensions will enable a transversal and relevant dialogue, circumscribed by the interest in the common good and in the collective. It is hoped that the articulation and apprehension of its creative and significant solutions, as models of action for plural, open and generous spaces, can continue to contribute to the continuous rise of socially active spaces. |
