Resumo: Fundação para a Saúde – Serviço Nacional de Saúde published in July 2019 the book “National Health  Service: Brief Interpretation and Guidelines for its Transformation” which consists in framing the creation, course and evolution of the health system in Portugal. Finally the book ends with a few projections for the future and some themes are presented which must be discussed to better respond the needs of citizens. The publication may be acquired through the following email fundacaosns@gmail.com. Below, a summary of the work is presented with aspects that we consider particularly relevant.
