Resumo: Introduction: The adolescent public has one of the highest rates of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI), in addition to demonstrating greater exposure factors compared to the adult public, as well as high rates of treatment abandonment in addition to the difficulty of access. The gradual increase in STI rates in this public highlights an important public health issue. Goals: To analyze how health education practices in relation to STIs occur with high school students, based on a literature review. Methods: This is a literature review research in the integrative review modality, in which the databases of Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Database of Nursing (BDENF) and Index were used. Bibliographic Español en Ciencias de la Salud (IBECS) with a total of 24 selected articles, considering inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The practice of health education is weakened. The factors that directly and negatively influence are linked to the absence of intersectoral actions and the interest of the educational institutions themselves, as well as the respective pedagogical and health teams. Conclusions: The practice of health education can be implemented in a way that parents, teachers and health professionals participate together with students, emphasizing the relevance regarding the insertion of these professionals in order to develop actions that emphasize prevention and promotion practices with an emphasis on sexuality and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
