Resumo: | Portrait carries a role of great importance not only on the immortalization of an individual, but also in the perpetuation of his memory in time, as well as it showcases the habits and costumes of an era from said individual has lived on. From it we can not only observe how the portrayed was physically, but we can also draw conclusions from the same and for instances, discover what kind of character he had as well as his social stratum. The present study aims to show how Physiognomy, which repeatedly falls by the wayside, but it is common and instinctively used by nearly all of us, it can play a fundamental role in the interpretation of description of literary portraits, as well as in the creation of countenances from the character. As main objective, we have the creation of possible portraits of characters from a literary work, based on their respective written portraits. We will then take said descriptions, combining both aspects of Physiognomy, not only the appearance but also the character, for their creation. Thus, the process was divided into two parts, a first one where we will develop a countenance from an analytic point of view, and later on a possible portrait from a more artistic approach where we will have a more clear vision and next to what could be real, what the character could be like if it were real. On a final stage, we will compare the achieved results with the characters from a recent film adaptation of the literary work chosen. From here, we can ascertain that Physiognomy is a tool of great importance in the creation of countenances and if we account for it, it can influence how we view the characters or actors |
