É neste contexto de mudança que surge a passagem do paradigma custodial para um paradigma pós-custodial, surgindo um vínculo entre a informação e a tecnologia digital. Posto isto, e ao nível da comunicação, surge como contributo o correio eletrónico que facilita a troca de informações. No cenário atual, o correio eletrónico trouxe vantagens como a facilidade de utilização, o seu fácil acesso, a rapidez, os custos, a permissão de filtrar mensagens, a comunicação sem papel, o armazenamento de dados, o envio de comunicação em massa. A presente dissertação baseia-se num estudo exploratório de carácter qualitativo e descritivo, suportado pela revisão da literatura, e numa parte comparativa que pretende identificar o conjunto de diretrizes e boas práticas sobre a gestão do correio eletrónico em contexto arquivístico. Objetiva-se, assim, num plano geral, uma pesquisa bibliográfica, onde a qual incluiu --artigos científicos, dissertações e teses que permitiram orientar o tema em estudo. E uma pesquisa documental que conduziu à identificação e análise, em forma de estudo comparativo, de diretrizes nacionais e internacionais de gestão do correio eletrónico publicadas por organismos credíveis. A partir das informações recolhidas, estruturou-se a produção de um guia de boas práticas comuns aos vários documentos, que sirvam como matriz para a gestão arquivística do correio eletrónico nas organizações. Da análise de resultados, pretende-se que os aspetos como a definição de regras para a utilização do correio eletrónico e a organização do próprio correio eletrónico sejam práticas essenciais para garantir um eficaz arquivamento dos emails, enquanto documento arquivístico. Como conclusões, o estudo permitiu-nos refletir acerca do tema em estudo, bem como analisar diferentes diretrizes e desenvolver recomendações futuras para a gestão do correio eletrónico em contexto arquivístico. O estudo contribui assim para facilitar a criação de normas de uso e boas praticas do correio eletrónico, como a sua organização para a facilitação do trabalho arquivístico eletrónico.The internet and information technologies have altered the informational society with changes and development, changing perspectives, namely in archives. It is in this context of change that the transition from the custodial paradigm to a post-custodial paradigm emerges, creating a link between information and digital technology. For this reason, and in response to communication, is created making it easier to share information. Having said that, and at the level of communication, the electronic mail appears as a contribution facilitating the exchange of information. In the present scenario, electronic mail has brought a lot of advantages such as it being user friendly, its easy access, its speed, costs, its ability to filter messages, paperless communications, the storage of data, the sending of mass information. The present dissertation is based on a qualitative and descriptive exploratory study, supported by a literature review and a comparative part that aims to identify the set of guidelines and best practices on the management of electronic mail in an archival context. Thus, on a general level, a bibliographical research was carried out, which includes scientific articles, dissertations and theses that allowed the orientation of the study.
