 Grotowski establishes na artistic investigation with members of different cultures, charged with their social dramas, rituals and socio-cultural behaviors. The Paratheatre is approached primarily in the historical-cultural context between 1970 and 1975, also promoted by the counterculture movement and the rupture of the actor/spectator dichotomy, for the active participation of all involved. Culture, history, art and theater are foundations for this discussion. Contact is made with research on socio-cultural behavioral aspects of performance, dealing with the cross-cultural work of Theatre of Sources between 1976 – 1982. These periods point the way to a Grotowskian non-theatrical theater and indicate art as a vehicle for transforming the individual and collective. Erika Fischer-Lichte, Richard Schechner and Victor Turner form part of the core of theoretical support.
