Resumo: | This article is framed by history education in Primary Teaching in Angola, with a focus on the official curricular program of the History subject/5th grade, published in 2019. The study aims to understand the principles underlying such program, and to suggest ways to potentiate its quality. The study has a qualitative approach, and it uses a content analysis of documental data, done with a grid developed and validated for its purpose. The main results indicate that although the program does not explicitly mention the need to work some of the key dimensions of national orientations, it includes others in alignment with national/international perspectives, for example, towards the development of the 4th goal of the Agenda 2030, and there is a limited articulation to a “situated historical cognition”. Therefore, it is suggested that these results should be integrated in the todays’ curricular revision in Angola, and in similar contexts. |

History Education in Angolan Primary Teaching from a glocal perspective: a study centred on the Program 5.th gradeA Educação Histórica no Ensino Primário em Angola numa perspetiva glocal: um estudo centrado no Programa da 5.ª classeThis article is framed by history education in Primary Teaching in Angola, with a focus on the official curricular program of the History subject/5th grade, published in 2019.
