Resumo: | Digital games have evolved drastically over time, and one of these evolutions is mainly due to technological advancement and the care given when it comes to the visual aspect. This dissertation investigates the importance of color and visual style in the development of digital games and their impact on the player's experience. The research presents a review of the literature on color psychology, visual perception and color theory, as well as the influence of visual style on the game's narrative and identity. The methodology adopted combines analysis of popular games at a visual level, with the aim of understanding different approaches used to enrich this area. The results reveal that color plays a fundamental role in creating atmospheres and transmitting information, while visual style contributes to the game's identity and aesthetics. It is concluded that the strategic use of these elements in game design can enhance the player's experience, resulting in more engaging and cohesive games. Understanding the impact of color and visual style helps developers create video games that meet aesthetic and functional goals, considering several factors. |
