This dissertation intends to understand the urban project as an instrument between the various areas that act on the territory, socially, economically, spatially and ecologically, creating a coherent structure that promotes and enriches the environment for which it is designated, making -through the act of drawing. It presupposes the urban revitalization of public space, taking advantage of the value of the water front, as a strategic tool that will contribute to the sustainable development of spaces in social, ecological and economic terms in medium or long-term. As in many other port cities since the middle of the last century, the port of Porto is now, above all, a water front. The port is historically vital to the city, it has taken its name, justified its location, positioned it, given it relevance in the region and in the world and fed its economic, social, cultural, architectural and urban development in a continuous way from its first settlements to the present day. Today emptied of that "waterway" function, the Douro River is fundamentally a scenographic support that feeds an urbanization impulse, which is not always the most balanced and where the relationship with the river is radically different off that previous port condition. Soon, the work will be developed, on the area of intervention of the riverfront of the Ouro and the neighborhood of Aleixo, you can configure itself as an experimental laboratory, which will put into practice, intervention principles associated with the urban project, according to the definition proposed by Nuno Portas, in accordance with the various changeable layers that the city has, in order to express and to highlight the needs and dynamics of the contemporary world, improving the quality of life of the inhabitants.
