Resumo: I decided to write this thesis to study if the measures implemented as a response to the pandemic recession really facilitated the transition to renewable energy, and to a more sustainable way of living. Doing so, this work is structured in three main chapters, characterized by a precise and logical order. To begin, I evaluated how the lockdown measures affected the world economy, in particular, the energy industry. However, the main pillar of this work is the analysis of all the major policy response made by the most powerful governments in the world (EU, USA and China) and my local country, Italy. Finally, to achieve the target of decarbonisation is crucial to switch from internal engine combustion cars to vehicles that do not produce emissions, and the most advanced in this category, are the EVs, in which I studied the 2020 results and the future perspective.
