Resumo: «Iguais» and «Os anjos por dentro», from Tudo são histórias de amor, a short story collection by Dulce Maria Cardoso, constitute a relevant corpus on what concerns self-representation as balance between identity and difference, or otherness. Based on a triangle composed by two brothers and their mother, as figure of authority – twins as equal as two water drops, in the first –, both texts subvert the principle of perfect symmetry, or axiomatic unity, emphasized by choice in different configurations of the double. And both have also in common a moment of silent revelation that highlights the «other side» of the mirror, to be valued in the framework of fiction as art of the possible.
