A dissertação “Perceções e representação de alunos e professores sobre Bullying e Cyberbullying numa escola de Évora” estuda a forma de como o bullying e o cyberbullying é realizado e as consequências no (in)sucesso escolar dos alunos no Agrupamento de Escolas Severim de Faria em Évora. Bullying, deriva do termo inglês Bully caracterizada pelo dicionário Oxford (2010) como verbo ou como substantivo. No que toca ao verbo significa “intimidar”, “brigar”, “maltratar” e ameaçar. Como substantivo, refere-se a “agressor”, “valente”, “bruto” e “insolente”. Por sua vez, cyberbullying é uma forma de bullying realizada pela internet, maioritariamente pelas redes sociais. Para se chegar às conclusões necessárias, foi realizado um enquadramento teórico e a aplicação de um questionário como instrumento de recolha de dados, que envolveu diretores de turma e alunos pertencentes ao 3º ciclo e ensino secundário na Escola Severim de Faria em Évora, no ano letivo de 2022/2023. O estudo é realizado através de inquérito por questionário e responde à questão que serviu de base a esta investigação: Qual a realidade do bullying e cyberbullying numa Escola do Alentejo? Do estudo realizado verificou-se que tanto os docentes como os alunos, entendem a gravidade do bullying e do cyberbullying e a gravidade das consequências que traz para a vida de quem sofre diretamente. Relativamente à realidade vivida no agrupamento, conclui-se que apesar de ser uma realidade muito assistida por todos os alunos no geral, para esta escola, a maioria dos alunos nunca sofreu nenhuma forma de bullying ou de cyberbullying. É unanime a opinião de todos os participantes neste estudo quando concordam que o bullying verbal e o cyberbullying através das redes sociais são as formas mais recorrentes destas práticas. É importante ter em consideração que, existem algumas limitações que contribuem para a prevalência deste tipo de realidades, nomeadamente a falta de formação/ preparação dos docentes de detetarem e atuarem em situações de bullying e cyberbullying, falta de recursos no agrupamento e as escassas estratégias e atividades de combate ao bullying e cyberbullying realizado tanto em sala de aula como no agrupamento de escolas; - Perceptions and representation of students and teachers about Bullying and Cyberbullying in one of Evora’s school Abstract: The dissertation “Perceptions and representation of students and teachers about Bullying and Cyberbullying in one of Evora’s school” studies the way bullying and cyberbullying is carried out and the consequences on students' academic (in)success in a group of Severim de Faria schools in Évora. Bullying derives from the English term “Bully” characterized by the Oxford dictionary (2010) as a verb or as a noun. As far as the verb is concerned, it means "to intimidate", "to fight", "to mistreat" and to threaten. As a noun it refers to "aggressor", "brave", "brute" and "insolent". Cyberbullying, on the other hand, is a form of bullying carried out over the internet, mostly through social networks. To reach the necessary conclusions, many information collection techniques were used, such as bibliographical research, document analysis and the application of a questionnaire as a data collection instrument, which involved class directors and students belonging to the 3rd cycle and secundary education of Severim de Faria school in Évora on the 2022/2023 academic year. The study is carried out through a questionnaire survey and answers the question that served as the basis for this research: What is the reality of bullying and cyberbullying in a school in Alentejo? From the study carried out, it was found that both teachers and students understand the seriousness of bullying and cyberbullying and the seriousness of the consequences it brings to the lives of those who suffer directly.Regarding the reality experienced in the grouping, it is concluded that despite being a reality very watched by all, for this school, most students have never suffered any form of bullying or cyberbullying. It is the unanimous opinion of all the participants in this study when they agree that verbal bullying and cyberbullying through social networks are the most recurrent forms of these practices.It is important to consider that there are some limitations that contribute to the prevalence of this type of reality, namely the lack of training/preparation of teachers to detect and act in situations of bullying and cyberbullying, lack of resources in the group and the scarce strategies and activities to combat bullying and cyberbullying carried out in the classroom and in a group of schools.
