Resumo: The constant need for adaptation of pedagogical models reliant on the evolution of the paradigms of the design profession and the socioeconomic conditions of a society, require a tenacious search for new solutions and tools appropriate for the integration of young designers in the professional environment. At the same level, the integration between both spheres, academic and professional, have outlined new routes that allowed enrich and diversify the skill set of designers. The contextualization of teaching models of the European design schools - from its origins until nowadays, identifying institutions that by their methodology, leadership and relationship with the outside environment are transcendent in design education -, are faced with the Portuguese institutional, professional and pedagogical design panorama, putting in evidence the actions of the Faculty of Fine Arts from the University of Lisbon. National and international realities are examined from different perspectives and relevant skills, dynamics and instruments to practice this profession are exhibit also unveiling new journeys which designers can choose today in society. Pedagogy as design agent assumes a privileged position in creating conditions for the deployment of new guidelines for the future of the product design discipline. To ensure the effective definition of the role of design agent, this paper proposes a new educational program, the Interactive Program, which seeks to exalt mobility between universities and facilitate the transition from student to designer, approaching businesses, professionals, institutions and researchers
