Resumo: Residential care (RC) in Portugal has been the subject of an important scrutiny. Considering the relevance that the media assumes in public opinion, this study will focus on the main themes addressed in the scope of the RC in daily and weekly newspapers in the last 5 years. The document analysis focused, firstly, on rc news content and, secondly, on caregivers. The results will be discussed taking into account the comparative news coverage and scientific production in this field.

Considerando a relevância que a comunicação social assume na opinião pública, este estudo incidirá sobre os principais temas abordados no âmbito do AR em diários e semanários nos últimos 5 anos. A análise documental incidiu num primeiro momento sobre conteúdos noticiosos do ar e num segundo momento nos cuidadores.
