Resumo: The constant social, cultural and political changes directly influence people's lives and restrict their needs and tastes. For this, the tendencies have the role of announcing through these circumstances the preferences of people to the objects, being able to be great allies of the design since working in project is a planning activity of the future. This makes it possible to deal with competition in order to create strategies for the adoption of trends in national companies. Housing has been an integral part of human life ever since, and as such it is possible to determine characteristics of society: its character, its conditions of existence, and its degree of civilization. Furniture in particular gives us a more intimate idea of the evolution of people's way of living over time than any other artifact. This research is based on this: Let know the evolution of the human being through housing and furniture, and to understand how this evolution has gradually changed; understand how styles are currently appropriate to the various types of consumers; understand how this trend information is handled by designers and consumers. Design has never been so studied and questioned as it is today. Contemporary society is vulnerable to numerous changes in cultural, economic and ideological values. In this way, these changes in relation to the tendencies are denominated like macrotendences. Great sociocultural movements that influence the society for long periods of time. In order to carry out this research, it was necessary to contact a number of companies, which contributed through a questionnaire about research and application of trends
