As Unidades de Apoio ao Alto Rendimento nas Escolas: Análise da sua implementação e gestão em Portugal

Resumo: | The main objective of this work was to know how the High Sport Support Units in Portugal were implemented and how the management works. These units have only been in operation since 2016, so there is still little information and bibliography on this subject. Thus, for the theoretical framework we have used the themes of Sports and High Sport and the supporting national legislation and policy. The research was based on a qualitative methodology, with the semi-structured interview being the main source of data collection. Interviews were conducted with schools that in 2018 have all that is planned in a UAARE school which is: to have a study room "Aprender+" with trained teachers who provide face-to-face support to students and support distance in on-line learning environments. The UAARES are similar to the "Sport Schools" existing in other European countries, however with the proper adaptations of our educational and sports system. As a conclusion, we have verified that this process is revolutionizing the school and sports conciliation of these students who have double careers, conciliating the successful sports career with the school. We also verified that the existing legislation is sufficient to support High Sport, but with the joint dispatch that creates the Support Units in the selected schools the application of effective support to the students becomes possible and facilitated. |
