The study of the Social Accounting Matrix arises from the need to place sectors with the general context of the economy, as well as the need to find out the effects of macroeconomic policies at sectorial level and sectorial policies at macroeconomic level. The intention is to make some advance at the level of modelling, which involves the deduction and decomposition of accounting and fixed price multipliers. The criticisms and limitations inherent to the work, served as the basis for the definition of the guidelines for its continuation, i.e., to perfect the Matrix, which I suggest is associated with its institutionalisation. Such conditions would strengthen the validity of the Social Accounting Matrix as working instrument for economic planning and for the definition of economic policy, at any level.
