Caracterização morfológica e análise do desempenho técnico-tático da Seleção Nacional de Futsal Sub-15

The main aim of the present study was to characterize the portuguese futsal player of elite-level U-15, regarding their morphology and technical-tactical performance with ball along the game. Its relevance and timeliness arises from the recent inclusion of futsal in the next Youth Olympic Games, in 2018, and the today U-15 generation is the one that will represent Portugal in this competition. Futsal is a collective sport game that has expanded and developed significantly in recent decades, at an international and national level, having reached its own identity and a high competitive level. The phenomenon of expansion, professionalism and competition in futsal led to the need to investigate the athlete's characteristics and how these can boost their performance. There are, however, few studies in this area, particularly if we consider the ones developed about youths and / or in Portugal. Given the above, the characterization of the National Team U-15, seemed to us to be an important contribution to the development of the sport and of its knowledge. Our study was conducted in the sporting season 2015-2016 in two phases: phase 1 - analysis of the technical and tactical performance with ball - and phase 2 - morphological characterization. In phase 1 it was used the instrument Game Performance Assessment Instrument, and in phase 2 it was followed the protocol proposed by the International Working Group on Kinanthropometry. The sample was composed by 29 athletes from the National Team U-15, average age 14.95 years (± 0.37). The results allowed to characterize the average morphological profile of the National Team U-15 player (height of 167 ± 8 cm, 61.6 ± 11.0 kg of body weight, 13.9 ± 4.88% of body fat and 22.06 ± 2.90 kg/m2 BMI) and the technical and tactical performance ball (Decisions Made Index/DMI of 0.90 ± 0.05, Skill Execution Index/SEI of 0.84 ± 0.05, which resulted in a Game Performance of 0.87 ± 0.04). The results represent a reference for a follow-up of this generation of futsal players, opening a new topic of research.
