Resumo: With women entering the labour force in the past century, the labour market has undergone significant changes. This thesis aims to present various sociological approaches to the theme of gender inequality in the labour market and related topics, foreign and Croatian. This work analyses the perceptions and experiences of women toward inequalities in the labour market of the Republic of Croatia. By means of a content analysis of 20 interviews, four different dimensions were chosen: the glass ceiling and pay gap, gender and gender inequality, discrimination and segregation of women, prejudice and sexual harassment. Those dimensions are systematically clarified, and linked with the theoretical framework.

Esta tese visa apresentar e desenvolver várias abordagens sociológicas sobre o tema da desigualdade de género no mercado de trabalho e tópicos relacionados. Esta pesquisa analisa as perceções e as experiências profissionais das mulheres em relação às desigualdades laborais no contexto da República da Croácia. Através de uma análise de conteúdo de 20 entrevistas, foram identificadas quatro dimensões determinantes: a disparidade salarial, a desigualdade de género, as formas de discriminação e de segregação das mulheres, o preconceito e o assédio sexual.
