Nursing interventions in patient submitted to oral antineoplastic: empowerment for self-care – Scoping review

Resumo: Currently, there is an increase in the use of oral antineoplastics (OA) in the treatment of cancer patients. So, it is emerging (essential) that nurses develop interventions which guaranties a safety management and promote empowerment of oncology patient. Objective: To map nursing interventions who empower oncology patients submitted to OA for self-care. Review method: We used a scoping review based on the Joanna Briggs Institute, having performed a selection, extraction and data collection by an independent reviewer. Presentation and discussion of results: We include 15 studies in the review, that have revealed that the nurse’s areas of intervention are believes demystification, adherence, patient support and education, side effect and therapy management of OA. Conclusion: We conclude that most of studies are reviews which had some differences regarding nursing interventions to empower oncology patient.

Torna-se premente que os enfermeiros desenvolvam intervenções eficazes na gestão segura dos AO e permitam a capacitação do doente oncológico. Objetivo: Identificar as intervenções de enfermagem que capacitem o doente oncológico submetido a AO para o autocuidado. Método de revisão: Utilizamos a scoping review baseada na Joanna Briggs Institute, tendo sido realizada a seleção, extração e síntese dos dados por um revisor de forma independente. Apresentação e discussão de resultados: Incluímos 15 estudos na revisão que revelaram que as áreas de intervenção do enfermeiro são a desmitificação de crenças, adesão, suporte e educação do doente, gestão de efeitos secundários e da terapêutica AO.
