Resumo: | This study examines, from an ethnographical point of view, the gender identity constructions of women in the (sub)cultures juveniles linked to electronic dance music (drum'n'bass, trance and house) at the Porto and, less consistently, in other locations in North of Portugal. Discuss concepts such as 'subcultures', 'post-subcultures' and 'club cultures', being essentially the perspective adopted, the intention of establishing connections between the specific contexts of (sub)cultures club and social structures in terms of the implications of gender and social class. It is essential to consider the intersections of gender with other variables such as social class factors and specific targeting of their own (sub)cultures club. Characteristics of the scenes (sub)cultural interactions and styles, have been analyzed in terms of their implications in terms of gender (in interaction with other variables). Considering the genre in a relational perspective tries to understand: the experience of women in these (sub)culture club, the roles they assume on the inside (visible and/or invisibility); subcultural capital structures and their implications in terms of gender ; the implications of clubbing to women in terms of social control, autonomy, sexuality and drug use, their perception and experience of risk (associated with violence, sexuality and drug use). The methodological eclecticism oversees research and is palpable in the social use of photography and in conducting semi-directive and depth interviews. |
