Resumo: | We provide a critical overview of some fictional works dealing with the Portuguese colonial wars, specifically seeking to investigate the recurrence of homoerotic bonds and suggesting some reasons that might account for such prevalence. Even though both the form and substance of these homoerotic episodes reveal outstanding diversity, some motifs surface repeatedly in these texts: the framing of the sexual encounter within a setting of homossocial partnership, same‑sex relationships as cathartic and redeeming resources, the transgressive ambiguity of gender‑bending and drag, the juxtaposition of homoerotic self‑discovery and psycho‑affective maturation. |
