Aspetos do culto ibérico ou celta da serpente em Zonas do Alto Douro - Estudo etnolinguístico e simbólico

Some aspects of the cultural imagination of the Upper Douro Region, which relate language and culture as part of the immaterial or intangible cultural heritage contain cultural expressions and traditions, including the legend of Dona Mirra. Viewed from a ethno-linguistic perspective, in the manner of Bernard Pottier, i.e., considering the linguistic message in a context of cultural communication, combined with a variational and also ethno-linguistic point of view, as indicated by Eugenio Coseriu, we can establish a relationship with cultural heritage edifices, especially the message of the serpent symbol in 'Castro' settlements and rocks, perhaps even dating back to the Iberian or Celtic cult of the snake, in addition to the obvious Arab influence, or even of Mithras, as there remains a legacy of the cult of Serapis documented in the Panóias sanctuary. However, the fragmentation of the legend of Dona Mirra into variants, some with a strong moralizing character, and the division of its nuclear symbol, i.e., the serpent with or without a woman’s braid, and vocabulary, make evident the evolution and development of aspects of human consciousness as well as the linguistic elements of the communication of culture. Resumo Alguns aspetos do imaginário cultural do Alto Douro, em que se relacionam língua e cultura, como parte do património cultural imaterial ou intangível, ao englobar expressões culturais e tradições, incluem a lenda Dona Mirra. Perspetivado pela etnolinguística, na aceção de Bernard Pottier; ou seja, considerando a mensagem linguística em situação de comunicação cultural, articulada com o ponto de vista variacional e também etnolinguístico, como assinalado por Eugenio Coseriu, pode-se estabelecer uma relação com o património cultural edificado, sobretudo as inscrições do símbolo da serpente em castros e rochas, ou até mesmo considerar o remonto culto ibérico ou celta da serpente, para além da notória influência árabe, ou mesmo de Mitras, já que existe um legado do culto a Serápis, em Panoias. Contudo, a fragmentação da lenda de Dona Mirra em variantes, algumas de caráter fortemente moralizador, e a divisão do seu símbolo nuclear; ou seja, a serpente, com ou sem trança de mulher, e o léxico, vêm pôr em evidência a evolução e desenvolvimento de aspetos da consciência humana, e os elementos linguísticos da mensagem da comunicação da cultura.
