Resumo: | The development and growing mediatization of digital media have been causing great changes in the idea of the book. The printed book has been adapted and, in a way, updated, while new digital formats have been gaining popularity and a larger number of readers. Its resources and possibilities are countless and undeniable, and may, or may not, be a threat to the future of printing. Therefore, it becomes more and more relevant to think about the way that these new formats relate to the printed book and how they can influence or contribute to its future and, consequently, to the evolution of reading habits and experiences. Among these new digital formats, we can find the audiobook. In recent years, it has become a competitive format to the printed book, motivating readers to question their concept of book and reading. Its immaterial nature, which allows great mobility to its users, combined with its simplicity of use and the relevance of its contents, make it a very appealing and increasingly popular format. By presenting characteristics that differentiate it from the traditional book and other emerging formats, the audiobook proves to be quite relevant as a subject of study. Analyzing it deeply allows to demonstrate its legitimacy as an independent book form. The present work intends to explore and test the boundaries of the relationship between the audiobook and the printed book. Exploring the expressive abilities of each format under analysis, this work intends to develop a project that would allow their collaboration and interdependence, in order to provide a unique and subjective Reading experience that is a product of the complementarity between two formats that, from the beginning, would be considered competitors. Thus, the developed project ends with an editorial object, composed of several elements that complement each other, resulting in a symbiosis between the printed book and the audiobook, enriched by the articulation of the printed and digital media that are part of the project. |
