Resumo: This work aimed to apply the PERMATUS tool (Perception of Materials by Users) in the assessment of tactile floors for environments with a flow of people (internal and external) through different types of materials: PVC, stainless steel, ceramic and polypropylene. Regard- ing the design, the form, texture, durability, placement and suitability of the different types of floors were taken into account. The research participants were students from a municipal school in Lorena-SP. The sample was made up of students with total blindness. The method- ology used was of an experiential qualitative character with an exploratory purpose, following the PERMATUS model, in the evaluation centered on the user of tactile floors in internal and external environments of a municipal school. The steps were based on product collection, technical details 2 and 3D, sampling, profile through the social questionnaire, sensory process with the development of the fixed test platform and subjective evaluation of the same in the dimensions: cognitive and affective in the user and product relationship . The data were col-lected in the field research using the alert floor through the perception of hands and feet and the application of a questionnaire. The results obtained demonstrated that the sensory and affective perception has its influence on the use of the product. The students considered that the emotions obtained in the interaction with the products are very important qualities. Most users preferred internal PVC for use with their hands and external PVC for use with their feet.
