Resumo: The international crisis of 2008, originated in the center of the North American financial system, forced several countries in the euro zone to ask for external financial help. What then are the implications that this economic and social context poses to young people from the point of view of the construction of future alternatives and their professional itineraries? In the specific case of those who aspire to build a musical career, what kind of strategies and what kind of positions are adopted? Can these strategies of creation and musical promotion be understood as alternative economic practices? Focusing on the city of Lisbon and on independent music, it is our objective to answer these questions, exploring the forms of collaboration between young musicians, labels, promoters and programmers, understanding the importance of their insertion in networks composed by different agents of the musical field in the construction of their professional career.
