Resumo: This internship report is the result of a reflection, which emerged not only in the last two years, but also during the intern's life course. How art, arts education and teaching contribute, or can contribute, to the individual construction of each student, to their critical thinking and to what extent can school offer learning that manifests itself through reflection, freedom and exchange of ideas, focused on the student and sharing of values. It is intended to analyze how school has been instrumentalized by power to respond to the most varied goals and ideological projects, as well as how can it be a mechanism for social and personal transformation of students. How can school free the individuals and how can this fact contribute to a fairer world. In an internship context, an activity was developed aiming to instigate students emancipation and to put teaching into perspective.
