Resumo: In an increasingly competitive world, the commitment to Quality is a key differentiator factor that can determine the success of a company. Quality, on its turn, is not only concerned with the product, but also with the processes and, ultimately, with satisfying and eventually exceeding customer expectations. Thus, process improvement is one of the many ways to guarantee a constant commitment to Quality. This report reflects the work carried out over eight months in a wind turbine blades manufacturing company, with the aim of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of its Quality information and documentation management processes. To this end, Business Process Management (BPM), Quality Management (QM) and Lean Thinking practices were combined in order to turn the company's Quality Management System (QMS) more compliant with the requirements established by ISO 9001:2015 standard with regard to the management of Quality information and documentation. After the implementation of the improvement measures, the internal communication became more fluid and effective and the documented information (namely Quality records and Quality procedures/instructions documents) became better understood by all, more accessible and reliable. The information and documentation flows were standardised and the QMS became more effective and efficient, in order to avoid waste. Through the obtained results, it could be concluded that the interaction between BPM, QM and Lean, which are different management paradigms, revealed to be advantageous for improving organisational performance in the scope of Information and Documentation Management, allowing significant improvements in its effectiveness and efficiency.
